Belgorail has successfully completed the Notified Body (NoBo) asssessment of the new CAF high-speed trains, Flytoget, which will operate as Airport Express Train in Oslo.
Flytoget, the Airport Express Train is a Norwegian high-speed airport rail link connecting Oslo Airport, Gardermoen to Oslo Central Station in nineteen minutes. Run by Flytoget AS, it operates on the high-speed Gardermoen Line using sixteen GMB Class 71 electric trains
The EMUs are 4-car units with a design focussed on energy efficiency and environmental protection. These units feature proprietary technology with maximum reliability and cutting edge design, safety, comfort and passenger accessibility.
As NoBo, Belgorail certifed the Flytoget HST in accordance with TSI Loc&Pas, PRM, Safety in Railway Tunnels and Noise, using the evaluation modules SB (design examination) and SD (EC verification based on quality management system of the production process).
During the assessment process, Belgorail has also issued the safety assessment reports to allow the trains to enter in track to perform the test. These certificates are the demonstration of the cross-acceptance of the evaluation of the Notified Bodies: Belgorail SA Branch in Spain carries out the assessment of a train that is going to operate in Norway.
