Sydney NorthWest Metro, the first driverless metro in Australia opened last Sunday.

With 13 stations and 36 km-long of track, Sydney Metro Northwest Line is Australia’s first fully-automated metro line. Alstom delivered 22 six-cars Metropolis trains and also CBTC signalling systems (Urbalis 400 communications-based train control).

CERTIFER have been working for 5 years on this project as Independent Certifier, in a consortium led by SYSTRA and GHD, for the client TfNSW.

CERTIFER were notably in charge of the certification of the rolling stocks and the manufacturing management. Following the award of this contract, we created a subsidiary in Sydney, and are now working on different projects (Sydney light rail, Melbourne High Capacity Metro Train, Inland Rail, …)
