CERTIFER successfully completed the independent safety assessment of the Platform Safety System developed by VIVERIS TECHNOLOGIES to equip the automatic B metroline of Lyons in France.
In the framework of Lyons Avenir Metro operation, VIVERIS developed a safety system for fall detection named "Sécurité Quai Voie" (SQV) in French. This Platform Track Safety system developed for Alstom aims to ensure the detection of people or objects fall onto the track at each station platform, the pre-tracking detection on the track upstream and downstream of each station platform and intrusion detection in tunnels. Each platform of ten stations of the B line of Lyons(Charpennes-Charles Hernu), which will be automated, is equipped with SQV system.
The SQV system includes a treatment rack in the Electrical Equipment Room interfaced with traction logic, automatic pilot, centralized control center, ATS, Control Equipment in the station and also equipment to the track for creating a light curtain detection comprising a set of infrared rays.
The new generic application had to comply with CENELEC standards and had to meet SIL 2. In this framework, CERTIFER acts as the Independent Safety Assessor and assessed the generic application of this new SQV (version C) subsystem according to EN 5012X.
