CERTIFER appointed to provide Independent Safety Expertise on Toulouse new metro line.

The M3 Project consists in the creation of a third metro line to complete the existing network; with a length of around 27 kilometers and 21 stations planned, this new itinerary will join Colomiers and Labège, through economical aeronautics sectors in the North-West and the city centre of Toulouse. 19km of this line will be underground.

The missions of CERTIFER, as Qualified Body (OQ in French) consist in the assessment of the conformity of the project according to standards and technical regulations (for rolling stocks, infrastructure, energy and control command signaling) as well as evaluation of the achievement of the required safety level for the global system.

The client is Tisseo Ingénierie SMAT, which since 1996 designs and builds transportations systems of the Greater Toulouse.
