The south extension of Constantine tramway line offficially entered service this week.
Thanks to the first 7km extension connecting Chahid Kadri Brahim station to Zouaghu Slimane, the tramway line now connects the old city to the new city of Ali Mendjli with a network of 15 stations. The tramway line was equipped with Citadis tramways, tracks, catenaries, telecommunication and signalling systems, substations and ticketing equipment by Alstom and Cosider consortium.
In the framework of this project, CERTIFER was selected by EMA (Entreprise Métro d’Alger) and carried out an Independent Safety Assessment (ISA) for all subsystems:
- Global System assessment
- Preparation to operation & maintenance
- Rolling Stock
- Control-Command & Signalling
- Civil works and solidity
- Urban insertion
With this south extension, Constantine tramway line is one of the main algerian network among Algiers, Oran, Sidi Bel Abbès, Ouargla, Mostaganem tramway networks, for which CERTIFER performed all the Independent Safety Assessment missions.
