CERTIFER have been awarded their first project in Canada as ISA of Montréal’s automatic and driverless light metro in Quebec.
Réseau Express Métropolitain will be one of the world's largest automated transport networks, once completed by 2021.
With its 67km of tracks across Greater Montreal - both aerial and underground - and its 26 stations, the new network will connect downtown Montréal, South Shore, North Shore, West Island and Trudeau International Airport,
Groupe des Partenaires pour la Mobilité des Montréalais (PMM), the Alstom-led consortium with SNC-Lavalin will supply 212 Alstom Metropolis metro cars, Alstom's Urbalis 400 driverless and automated CBTC (communications-based train control) and Iconis control centre solutions, as well as platform screen doors, Wi-Fi connectivity, and 30 years of operations and maintenance services.
In this framework, Certifer have been selected by Alstom for the Independent Safety Assessment of the Global system, Control Command and Signalling subsystem (Passengers GSM, Passengers Wifi, CCTV...), Rolling Stock subsystem, Platform Screen Doors and Maintenance depots equipments.
