AEbt Certifer successfully completed the homologation assessment for new diesel-hydraulic powered vehicles manufactured by ROBEL for transport and maintenance operations in Metro network of Nuremberg.
 
The diesel-hydraulic powered vehicles and transport trailers have been successfully approved in accordance with the national regulation BOStrab in April 2021.
The commissioning permit for the vehicles was applied for in February 2017 and assessed by Certifer's experts during the project.
 
During the assessment, the construction documents were checked and the constructed vehicles were accepted by expert inspections to ensure safety in operation under local conditions.
This means that the focus of the assessment was not only on vehicle safety, but also on compatibility with infrastructure and operation.
 
They are used in the metro network of VAG Verkehrs-Aktiengesellschaft Nuremberg for transport& maintenance purposes in single or double traction mode. Furthermore, the diesel-hydraulic vehicles are used to tow damaged passenger vehicles or other work vehicles.
 
The challenges of this project were the variety of the application fields, as well as the operation with the train control system CTS/M without affecting other necessary systems, required for the automatic metro operation.
