Urbanloop has broken the world record for the lowest energy consumption per kilometer for an autonomous vehicle on rail

On May 28, 2021, Urbanloop has broken the world record for the lowest energy consumption per kilometer for an autonomous vehicle on rail under the supervision of CERTIFER

It is a great success for the Urbanloop project, which broke the record for the lowest energy consumption with an expenditure of only 0.47 cents per kilometer for a maximum speed of 52 km/h! The record to beat was 1 cent.

Urbanloop is an innovative project driven by the engineering schools of Lorraine INP (France) and developed by SAS Urbanloop. Designed to reduce the use of cars in the city, this new mode of transport offers a new system of soft mobility allowing users to move around the city in capsules on interconnected rails. The event will take place in Tomblaine, in the Région Grand Est of France.

CERTIFER, which is involved in the project as Independent Assessor, has checked the results provided by a device measuring the voltage and current consumed in the vehicle.
We are proud to have participated in this innovative project, which represents a major step in the field of public transport.
