The Ville de Caen is inaugurating its tramway: the CERTIFER group is proud to have participated in this project, which went into service this weekend!

Since Saturday morning, the inhabitants of the Urban Community of Caen la mer have been benefiting from a new tramway network. The three lines, linking Hérouville Saint Clair to Ifs Jean Vilar (T1), Campus 2 to La Presqu'île (T2) and Quatrans to Collège Hawking (T3), cover 15.9 km of infrastructure. The purpose of these three tramway lines is to enhance the banks of the Orne and connect it to the city centre. The 36 stations of these three lines are now served by 26 Alstom Citadis X05 trains, "new generation" trams whose grey colour had been chosen by Internet users in 2016.

Within the framework of this project, Certifer and Certifer Trames Urbaines has accompanied the Urban Community of Caen la mer as an Approved Qualified Body. Selected in 2011, the Certifer Group has carried out two safety assessment missions for the global system and Urban Integration.

An extension of this line is also already planned from the Hauts de l'Orne ZAC to the south of the T3 line.
