CERTIFER, Artelia and SOLINES & ASOCIADOS Abogados join forces to support the Ministry of Transport and Public Works (MTOP) in the development of a standard for urban guided transport systems in Ecuador

Certifer, Artelia and Solines y Asociados have brought together their respective fields of expertise in independent assessment, consulting and engineering, and public law to propose a standard that will frame the safety of urban guided transport systems in Ecuador.

The country has decided to establish national regulations for urban guided transport such as railroads, subways, streetcars, cable cars, funiculars and similar, both for new projects and for substantial modifications that could affect the safety of the system. This regulation should also take into account the projects that are already underway in the country.

The main objective is to provide Ecuador with regulations to control both the construction and operation phases of public guided transport in order to ensure the safety of passengers and third parties, while taking into account the laws already in force in the country.
