CERTIFER have been awarded the Independent Safety Assessment mission of the Signalling System and Platform Screen Doors (PSD) for Dhaka Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) Line 6 in Bangladesh.

Dhaka, Bangladesh's capital is the world's fastest-growing mega-city with a population of more than 15 million people. Facing traffic congestion and pollution issues, one of the world’s most densely populated cities launched city’s first MRT line in order to ease transportation. The 19.8 km-long MRT, expected to open in December 2021, consists of 16 elevated stations from Uttara to Motijheel stations and aims to carry 60,000 passengers in an hour running every four minutes.

In the framework of this project, NIPPON SIGNAL - a Japanese company with proven experience in developing technologies for railway signal systems - will supply the Signalling system, CBTC, AFC system and PSD system. After several cooperation in the framework of Delhi and Ahmedabad metro lines' Signalling systems independent safety assessments, NIPPON SIGNAL renewed their confidence to CERTIFER Group and selected CERTIFER as its own Independent Safety Assessor for Dhaka MRT Line 6. We are therefore proud to collaborate directly with Nippon Signal Co. Ltd.  as our First project in Bangladesh.
