Belgorail continues to contribute to the ETCS deployment in Belgium with the recent commissioning of the L60 line (Jette-Dendermonde) by Infrabel
Since 2013, Belgorail supports Infrabel for the ETCS deployment project in Belgium as QMS, ISA, AsBo & NoBo auditor. The objective is to equip the entire network of Belgium by 2025. This is a major ambition in favor of safety and digitalization.
The master plan launched the ETCS Level 1 program and was completed by the ETCS2+IL program. Each of these programmes relies first on the development and certification of a generic solution that fulfil the Infrabel operational and safety objectives, meets the TSI requirements and respects the Belgian specific signalling principles. Belgorail accompanies Infrabel and its supplier THV (temporary association of Siemens & Engie-Fabricom) in these developments in order to ensure safety and interoperability of the solutions.
These generic solutions can then be deployed on the different lines through specific projects which are in turn evaluated by Belgorail which finally provides a certificate of conformity. That’s where we are today with the putting into service of the L60 line equipped with the ETCS L2FS generic solution, certified by Belgorail during fall 2020.
