CERTIFER has been awarded the Independent Safety Assessment contract on the new Alstom X’trapolis 2.0 project in Melbourne
X'trapolis 2.0 is the next generation of the Electric multiple unit (EMU) series currently running in the Melbourne suburban network. These new trains will gradually replace the Comeng's ageing fleets on the Craigieburn, Frankston and Upfield lines. Construction of the trains is expected to begin in 2022 in Victoria and they will enter passenger service from 2024.
As an independent safety assessor, our Australian team will be responsible for verifying whether the relevant technical and operational risks have been reduced to an acceptable level.
