CERTIFER have been selected by Tram’Ardent consortium for the Independent Safety Assessment of the first tramway line in Liège (Belgium).

Tramway de Liège is the first tramway line in Liège and will connect Sclessin multimodal station (southwest of Liège) with Coronmeuse station in the northeast via Saint Lambert Square and high-speed train station. The network will be a 11.7 km-long line and will serve 21 stations. The project also includes the construction of a new maintenance and storage center and a control center at Bressoux station. The Tram’Ardent consortium - comprising COLAS, CAF which will supply 20 Urbos 100 trams, and the investment fund DIF INFRASTRUCTURE - have been chosen by OTW, the Walloon Transport Operator for the design, construction and maintenance of Liège tramway line. The new tram will be fully operational in October 2022.

In this framework, CERTIFER have been selected by the consortium in order to perform an Independent Safety Assessment from the Design stage to the Construction and Testing stages of the first tram line in Liège. CERTIFER will assess all the subsystems: Global System, Rolling stock, Energy, Control Command and Signaling, Infrastructure and the Urban Insertion, through our subsidiary CERTIFER TRAMES URBAINES.
