CERTIFER has been awarded the Independent Safety Assessment (ISA) of the first phase of Ahmedabad metro rail project in India.
The Metro-Link Express for Gandhinagar and Ahmedabad co. ltd (MEGA) is a mass-transit rail system between the cities of Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar in Gujarat that will connect 4 corners of Ahmedabad with 2 corridors and 32 stations. The 1st phase of the project, expected to be completed by 2020, is about 39.259 km out of which approximately 6 km is underground and the remaining part is elevated section.
MEGA selected CERTIFER for the assessment of Signaling and Train Control System (S&TC provided by Nippon Signal) and safety related interface with Interfaced Systems. For this project, CERTIFER will assess :
- safety aspects of design, manufacturing, installation, test & commissioning stages and inputs to operation & maintenance and EW Corridors
- integration of the S&TC system into the whole metro system, including interface to Rolling Stock, PSD, Traction Power Supply, Telecommunication and Tunnel Ventilation
- vulnerability of the CBTC against cyberattacks This new contract strengthens the presence of CERTIFER in India, where CERTIFER already carried out ISA missions for several metro lines in Delhi, Navi Mumbai and Kolkata.
